What a new thought for the church, that we are all called AND competent to counsel God’s word to each other! Yes, many may be more anointed by God, but from the least to the most anointed, all men need to study the word of God and be able to communicate it to others.
Pastor Jeff, I am in agreement with you and have over the years cringed when well-meaning but sincerely-wrong Christians have called people to great things in THEIR own power, rather than full dependency and obedience to Holy Spirit!
Thank you Pastor Jeff for these weekly, energized, Spirit-led words of truth that are gold to us!
Wow, to use our fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. As we walk in the gifts God gives us, and abide in Christ. Abide means we act in accordance so with Christ. To have lives changed before our eyes as we walk in the Spirit. We are the vessels giving Him all glory. People will see our fruit, want the joy of what we have, and live out. A yielded life and trust in the Lord and His work being His vessel in and through us is what people need to hear and have lives changed for His Glory.
I agree with you Kristen! When people see Christ in us, the Christ in us impacts them. Even if it stirs them up to anger and frustration towards us. Yet it is just as truthful that “deep calls unto deep”, and those that are longing for Christ are drawn to us and the spiritual fruit displayed in our life.
