201: Equipped To Counsel God's Way

“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”

—Ephesians 4:11-12

I appreciate what you have spoken about in this podcast as I am continually being equipped through BCA. Every book I’ve read through has given me more understanding, more insight, and more knowledge of God, His word, and His purposes. I especially find that the more I read and learn, the more I realize how utterly dependent I am and need to be on Christ as my counselor, and His word, and Holy Spirit for becoming equipped to counsel/disciple others. As you said in the beginning, we are all to be equipped to counsel one another in the body of Christ.

      Dear Belinda,

Your appreciation and recognition of the importance of continual learning and dependence on Christ as our ultimate Counselor are truly inspiring. Your sentiment echoes Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

The realization that we are all to be equipped to counsel one another aligns beautifully with Colossians 3:16: “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”

May your journey of equipping and dependence on Christ continue to deepen and bear fruit in your ministry.

      Blessings,
      Jeff Christianson
